Mission Statement

Our mission is to

foster community, honour diversity,

recognize strengths, encourage participation

and provide opportunities for the people we serve

to enjoy a rich and rewarding life.


As a provincially registered Society, we are governed by the rules and regulations set out in the British Columbia Societies Act.  This also dictates the form of our Constitution and By-Laws.

In addition, we are a federally registered charity (qualified donee), regulated by Revenue Canada.  This allows us to solicit donations and issue an income tax deductible receipt.

Our Association is governed by a ten person Board of Directors that establishes policy and sets direction for the organization.  The Board is elected from the general membership at our Annual General Meeting, held each June.  The Board meets monthly, committees as required, and day to day operations are delegated to the Executive Director.  Our staff complement of Adult Support Workers have exceptional skills in many related and unrelated fields, as well as training in Community Support and/or Health and Personal Care.


Primary funding for community based day programs is provided by Community Living British Columbia.  In addition, the Association may contract with CLBC to provide individualized service on a one-to-one basis.

Other funds are received through personal donations, B.C. Lotteries Corporation, local service organizations, Federal government programs and productive enterprise.
